INTRODUCTION:
Our NZEB Retrofit course, will provide you with the principles and practice to effectively retrofit dwellings to reduce energy demand and carbon emissions and improve comfort.
COURSE CONTENT:
- Part L Retrofit Requirements :
Understand the regulatory requirements for major renovations to ensure compliance and enhance building performance. - Thermal Envelope and Building Physics:
The impact of the thermal envelope on building performance and how to optimise it during retrofits. - Thermal Insulation: Explore various insulation solutions to improve energy efficiency and comfort in retrofitted buildings.
- Thermal Bridging:
Identify and address common thermal bridging issues to minimize heat loss and improve overall building efficiency. - Airtightness, Vapour Control and Windtightness:
Gain understanding in maintaining airtightness, controlling vapour, and ensuring windtightness to enhance building durability and performance.
COURSE DELIVERY:
This course is delivered on site in Cork College of FET, Bishopstown Campus.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants apply online on www.fetchcourses.ie
Applicants must have completed the one day NZEB Fundamental Awareness course before progressing to NZEB Retrofit.
Those from outside the EEA or Common Travel Area must provide evidence of Stamp Four status to undertake this course.

This course is fully funded for those in employment, under Skills to Advance.
